Bowls Leicestershire’s Executive is committed to the development of the game across the whole county. Steve Bacon is now in his 4th year as Development Officer and is there to support you and continue the successes of previous years.
The No 1 target in 2019 is to reverse the trend of declining membership by:
  1. Holding open days just for new members at all clubs. (Advice on Open Day Preparations and Execution)
  2. Advertising them effectively.
  3. Offering members social bowling as well as competitive bowling.
  4. Reaching out to the local community and being part of it.
Other key areas to focus on:
  1. Improved communications: with existing members & the local community.
  2. A clear direction: Is everyone aware of who is responsible for everything?
  3. Valuing your Volunteers & existing members:
  • Do you know your membership and are you meeting their needs?
  • Develop a willingness to give something back to the sport.
  • Making use of existing skills and providing quality coaching.
There is so much resource & assistance out there including funding:
