  • Johns Flashes are awarded at the 5th National Competition Match (Johns or Walkers) played in.
  • Full County Playing Badges are awarded at the 1st County Match for International Players, or at the award of a Johns Flash, or other County Badged Players moving into Leicestershire who provide a 5 year record of County successes (quarter finals upwards), or at the 3rd County Match over at least 3 seasons of counting points.
  • Colts Badges are awarded at the 1st County Match played.

Bowls England Umpire of the Year Winner 2025

With more than 25 years of service to the English Bowls Umpires Association, Bob Penny is one of the sport’s most experienced and respected officials. A holder of the EBUA Silver Long Service Award, Bob has progressed through the ranks to achieve International Grade Umpire status and the International Technical Official qualification, enabling him to officiate at the highest level, including Commonwealth Games and World Bowls events.
